Jason is the founder of ASFYT™, the creator of Zenyasa® yoga, and the co-owner of the Zenyasa Yoga & Wellness Studio in New York City.  Prior to opening the Zenyasa® studio, Jason taught at many leading yoga studios and fitness centers in New York, including The Integral Yoga Institute, OM Yoga Studio, Yoga Works, Pure Yoga, NYSC, Equinox, LA Sports Club and Reebok Sports Club.   His innovative approach to yoga asana has been influenced by a lifetime of study in various movement and contemplative practices, including tai chi, hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, raja yoga, and Zen Buddhism, as well as in-depth studies in massage therapy, 5-element shiatsu, musculoskeletal anatomy, kinesiology and exercise science. 

A true teacher’s teacher, Jason co-taught teacher trainings at OM Yoga (from 2002-2005), served as a teacher training faculty member at Yoga Works & Pure Yoga (teaching anatomy & injury awareness/prevention), and currently offers continuing education opportunities for yoga teachers through the ASFYT™ program and the Zenyasa® 500hr Teacher Training Program.  He offers workshops and trainings internationally and maintains a regular teaching schedule and private massage practice in Manhattan.

Frances Taylor-Brown, E-RYT500

Frances is the other co-owner of the Zenyasa Yoga & Wellness Studio.  Her diverse background in exercise and mindful-movement practices includes certifications in Hatha Yoga (Integral Yoga Institute), Structural Yoga Therapy® (w/Mukunda Tom Stiles), Yogilates®  (w/Jonathon Urla), Pilates Mat and Equipment (Kane School of Core Integration), Thai Yoga Massage (Lotus Palm School), Muscle Ballet (w/Stephanie Herman), Holistic Health Counseling (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), Pre-natal Yoga (Pre-Natal Yoga Center), Personal Training (ACE), and most recently, Zenyasa® yoga.  She completed the ASFYT course in 2010, and has been co-teaching the course with Jason since 2011.  

Originally from Los Angeles, where she earned her B. F. A. in dance from California State University at Long Beach, Frances has been performing and dancing for over 20 years, and teaching dance and movement since 1987.  Her personal and professional philosophy focuses on balancing body, mind and spirit through the creative connection of movement, exercise, holistic health, personal empowerment and supportive community.
